I spent a few days in Rome before travelling with Judy McLellan to Art & Soul Retreat in Pienza, Tuscany. We created wonderful Fabric Memory books taught by Lesley Riley http://www.lalasland.com/. The holiday was just such a dream come true for me - I'd never done anything like this before but I'm so glad that I did. The talented group of women I met were so inspiring and I hope that I might see some of them again if Glenny can arrange for Art & Soul in Scotland 2009!
Rome was amazing, when I arrived I caught a taxi from Termini station to my hotel - Hotel Columbus, which Judy and I had booked online - it did say it was near St Peters Basilica but I just didn't think it would be that close - about 3 mins walk away. After I found my way to my room and unpacked I went for a walk, then just sat in St. Peters Square watching people go by - it was so surreal - I couldn't really believe I was there.

Looks like you had a good time in Rome, and yes some people do read your blog!!
Just popped by as I found you via your link to your gallery pics of your journal. This has the potential to be a really great blog. Don't lose heart. Your photos are fab, and your work is great. BH - I hope you read this cos no-one's ever bothered to be so encouraging to me!!! You have two fans anyway.
Here's my tips - put a free counter on your blog (Google it!) and you'll have an idea of your traffic (remembering it will count you, too!). Every time you visit someone's blog, leave a comment, and they (and their readers) will come and look at yours (mostly).
More importantly, just keep blogging, because it isn't really about the readers, it's about you. So I (and Cath - and I am just popping over to find out who she is right after I post this) will be expecting an update shortly. Put up pics of your journal and write about how you did it. And then you can pop over to mine and see how my House canvas is coming along (or scroll down and look at the machine embroidered purses my 11 year old and I made earlier this week). Have a good day.
BTW, if you look under Help, there are some tips for promoting your blog, such as turning on RSS feeds and so on...
Me again! I so want to see your Journal. Anyway, I tagged you, so now you have to do another entry - it's compulsory (hehe). Sorry, really (not) xx
Wow, you must have had an amazing time - keep up with the blog as i think it's great :)
I am beginning to look needy now. I gave you a Thinking Blogger award, so now you have to keep at it! Come by and get it! xx
